Homelessness is about more than rooflessness. A home is not just a
physical space, it also has a legal and social dimension. A home
provides roots, identity, a sense of belonging and a place of emotional
wellbeing. Homelessness is about the loss of all of these. It is an
isolating and destructive experience and homeless people are some of the
most vulnerable and socially excluded in our society.
While most of us are lucky enough to have the luxury of a place to call home, far too many people do not. All too many of us fail to realize how easily everything can be lost...one lost job, one family illness, can change everything for a family, leaving them without a place of their own to call home, a place where they can feel safe and secure.
It is the goal of Fandom 4 The Homeless to help those families in need, to help provide them with the services and support needed to be able to have a place to call home. We also hope that all of you, either through donations or by contributing as an author, will help our cause as well.
